About My Practice
Welcome, my name is Debbie. I qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor & Psychotherapist in 2020 from Aberdeen University.

During the past five years, I have developed my practice to be more integrative. As a therapist, I work collaboratively and holistically to meet my client's needs. After all, who knows you better than yourself? I'm there to support and sit beside you as we navigate your experiences in this world.

The core of my practice is grounded in empathy, genuineness, non-judgmentalism, and creativity. I aim to create a space for my clients where they will feel welcomed, safe, and able to bring their whole identity into the session, which in turn will cultivate the conditions required for growth, personal development, and healing.

My approach is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and viewed through an intersectional feminist lens. I work with a culturally diverse client base, the LGBTQIA+ community, and strive to build an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive way of being.

My own self-care is a priority. I work with my therapist, engage in peer support, and attend monthly clinical supervision in line with BACP guidelines.

Out of working hours, I have a few special interests: mid-century art & design, architecture, music, and yoga. I am a very willing companion to my feline friend who may make an appearance during our online sessions together. I feel I understand deeply the connection between animals and humans and welcome your pets into our sessions too.

I am based in Edinburgh and Dunfermline.
